The National Sleep Foundation asked more than 1,000 whites, African Americans, Asians, and Hispanics ages 25 to 60 about their sleep and bedtime routines. Some results:
- Six out of 10 people reported that they don't get a good night's sleep every night or almost every night.
- One in four people said that they missed work or a family function because they were too sleepy.
- One in four said they were too exhausted to have sex on a regular basis.
- Ten percent of African Americans and Hispanics reported having sex almost every night, compared with 4 percent of whites and 1 percent of Asians.
- 75 percent of African Americans reported watching television routinely in the hour before going to bed, compared with 64 percent of whites. Only 52 percent of Asians said they watched TV before bed almost every night.
- Asians are far more likely to use a computer or surf the Web before bed; more than half said they did so almost every night, compared with about 20 percent in the other groups.
- African Americans were far more likely than other groups to pray before bedtime almost every night of the week.
- Three-quarters of Hispanics and two-thirds of Asians said that they don't sleep with their partner.
- However, Hispanics and Asians are more likely to share a bedroom with their children.
- Whites were more likely to sleep with their pets than other ethnic groups.
- 20 percent of whites, African Americans, and Hispanics said that financial problems were causing them to lose sleep at night, compared to just 9 percent of Asians.

I have been an “on air” personality for 19 years. I began on WZOZ with a mid afternoon show and have come full circle to the same station where I have been doing my morning show now for 4 years. Life sure is funny. It's hard to imagine doing anything else because it's still so much fun! Every morning on the show I interview different community members about events or issues. I really enjoy this because it connects me even more to the community and I get to find out about all the great things our area in beautiful central New York has to offer. I'm a hometown girl. I grew up just outside of Oneonta in Gilbertsville and now live in Oneonta with my husband and 2 children.
